Sarah and Patrick have the coolest proposal story. Patrick proposed when they were hiking and camping in Yellowstone National Park! When I first met Sarah at her consultation, she told me all of the details. Patrick recorded it on his GoPro AND had a camera inside of the ring box. Their proposal was one big adventure, so it’s only fitting that we went somewhere a little bit adventurous for their engagement photos! We went to a state park right where Patrick drove us all around in his truck to scout the best locations. I couldn’t resist the mossy trees and wide open fields!

Fun fact: Last year, Patrick went on a road trip across the US with my husband and a couple of their other friends. They rode in Patrick’s truck for who-knows-how-many-miles across Texas, Arizona, Nevada, etc. Rumor has it that there were times when they drove all through the night relying on caffeine to stay awake…thank goodness I didn’t know that until AFTER they returned home!

It’s true when people say your wedding day goes by in a blur. I remember hurriedly talking to all of my guests in between eating dinner and cutting the cake. One conversation that stuck out to me was when Alex and I stopped by Sarah and Patrick’s table. They had just gotten engaged a few days prior to our wedding! They told us congratulations on our marriage, and then we congratulated them right back on their engagement! I was so excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding a couple weeks later. They are tying the knot at Beckendorff Farms in Katy, TX- the city where we all went to high school. June 2017 is going to be one for the books!
