Cat Spring Engagement // Allison + Miles

the sweetest high school sweethearts

Allison and I go WAY back. We played basketball together in elementary school! During Allison’s engagement session, we laughed about the basketball glory days. Her dad was the coach of the Bobcats, so we have a ton of memories that were made on the court! (It’s important to note that this was BEFORE we went to rival junior highs and played each other all the time- haha!)

Flash forward a couple of years, and we are all in high school together! Allison and I played on the freshman basketball team together before we switched our loyalties. Allison became a cheerleader, and I joined the dance team shortly after our basketball days ended! Miles was on the high school baseball team and continued to play in college. (I’m pretty sure Allison is his #1 supporter…look at the last photos!!) I love that Allison and Miles are high school sweethearts just like me and my husband!

the perfect location

Ever since I have known Allison, I have been encouraged by her incredible kindness, huge heart, and love for the Lord. With that being said, Allison and Miles came up with the perfect location for their engagement session. They chose to take photos at a retreat center in Cat Spring, TX, where Allison grew up going to church camp. The property has hidden trails, a gorgeous pond, and an even prettier sunset. Needless to say, their Cat Spring engagement session is nothing short of breath taking. I’m primarily a Houston wedding photographer, but I don’t mind traveling to locations like this! I think what I love most about this session is the fact that Allison and Miles both have contagious smiles. There was so much joy and laughter between them!

I can’t wait to photograph Allison and Miles’ wedding this June! It’s going to be one for the books!
